Taylor Lautner expressed his concerns regarding the harsh body shaming remarks directed at Selena Gomez following her appearance on the red carpet at the 2025 SAG Awards.
The 32-year-old actress participated in the awards ceremony on Sunday, February 23, where she was honored alongside her castmates from Only Murders in the Building.
Despite her achievements, online critics targeted her appearance, alleging that she was excessively thin and suggesting she was using Ozempic. In response, Taylor took to social media to address the unkindness that Selena faced.
On his Instagram story, Taylor shared a post from body positivity advocate Alex Light, which highlighted the contrasting comments made about Selena’s body during the 2024 and 2025 SAG Awards.
“Last year at the SAG Awards, Selena was ridiculed for gaining weight and advised to use Ozempic. This year, she faces criticism for losing weight and is mocked for supposedly using Ozempic,” Light noted.
In his remarks on the matter, Taylor stated, “It’s a cruel world full of hate out there. You can never please everyone not should you have to. In my experience it doesn’t make the words sting less, it just refocuses you onto what matters. And it sure isn’t the shape, color or appearance of your body. Daily reminder to all of us to not forget how beautiful you are inside and out.”
