Patricia Heaton Reveals Why She Hides Her Emmys Away in a Harry Potter-Style ‘Zoom Room’ Behind Her Kitchen

Patricia Heaton may be a two-time Emmy winner, but don’t expect to see her trophies displayed front and center in her home. Instead, the Everybody Loves Raymond star keeps them tucked away in a surprising spot.

“I like to keep my career separate from my home,” Heaton, 66, revealed in Us Weekly’s “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me” feature. “So my Emmy awards are in a little Zoom room behind the laundry room, which is behind the kitchen. It’s my version of Harry Potter under the stairs.”

Heaton won her Emmys in 2000 and 2001 for her portrayal of Debra Barone on the beloved sitcom. Her second win was particularly special because it was presented by one of her idols, Mary Tyler Moore.

Memories from the Set and Beyond

Along with reflecting on her award-winning career, Heaton shared fun behind-the-scenes memories, including her favorite souvenir from Everybody Loves Raymond—a ceramic bird from Frank and Marie’s house. She also admitted that she couldn’t take home the oversized fork and spoon from the show’s iconic “Baggage” episode because they wouldn’t fit in her car!

On The Middle, Heaton had a blast filming family car scenes, often playing classic songs to introduce the younger cast members to music from her generation.

She also has a soft spot for good food—her go-to takeout choices are Thai and Indian, and she loves comfort meals like Sunday roast, beef stew, and lasagna.

As for dream collaborations, Heaton hopes to work with Annette Bening someday, calling herself a big fan of the actress.
