Carolyn Jones (Born on April 28, 1930, Texas, U.S. – Died on August 3, 1983, California, U.S.) was a popular American actress and singer. She is best known to the public for her role as “Morticia Addams” in the television series “The Addams Family”.
Carolyn Jones was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Role in Delbert Mann’s ‘The Bachelor Party” (1957). and a Golden Globe Award as one of the most promising new actresses of 1959. She was the second of the three wives of film and television producer Aaron Spelling.

Carolyn Jones Biography
Carolyn Jones was born on April 28, 1930, in Amarillo, Texas, as a daughter of Chloe Jeanette Southern, a housewife, and Julius Alfred Jones, a barber. At the age of four, she was abandoned by her father and moved with her mother Jeanette and sister Bette to her maternal grandparents, in Amarillo.
During her childhood, she suffered from asthma attacks. In 1947, at the age of 17, she entered the prestigious Pasadena Playhouse. Thanks to her maternal grandfather who agreed to pay for her studies.
She earned extra money by working in a warehouse during her studies. She graduated in 1950 and radically changed his physical appearance, also undergoing a rhinoplasty operation.

Jones made her film debut in 1952 after being signed to Paramount Pictures. In 1953, she married producer Aaron Spelling, converting to Judaism, and soon her career began to develop more actively.
Jones’ first notable role was as Katy Gray in The House of Wax in 1953. This was followed by roles in films such as “The Seven Year Itch” (1955), “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” (1956), and “The Man Who Knew Too Much” (1956).
In 1957, the actress was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in The Bachelor Party, where she played an existentialist. A year later, Jones won the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Actress.
