Yogi Adityanath is a mahant, an Indian famous politician from Gorakhnath temple of Gorakhpur and since the 19th March 2017 the Chief Minister of the State of Uttar Pradesh.

He took the oath of office of the 21st Chief Minister after the Bharatiya Janata Party’s big victory in the state assembly elections on 19 March 2017. He represented Gorakhpur Lok Sabha constituency on a Bharatiya Janata Party ticket from 1998 to 2017 and was also elected as an MP in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Adityanath Gorakhnath is the successor of Avaidyanath, the former Mahant of the temple. He is also the founder of Hindu Yuva Vahini, a social, cultural, and nationalist group of Hindu youth, and his image is that of a strong Hindu nationalist leader in India.

Yogi Adityanath Wikipedia

Yogi Adityanath’s real name is Ajay Mohan Bisht born on 5 June 1972 in the village of Panchur, in Pauri Garhwal, Uttar Pradesh (present-day Uttarakhand, India). His father’s name is Anand Singh Bisht who was a forest ranger, and his mother’s name is Savitri Devi. His father Anand Singh Bisht died on 20 April 2020.

He was the fifth of seven children of his parents, after three elder sisters and one elder brother, and he has two younger brothers. At the age of 21, Yogi Adityanath left his family and became a complete monk in 1994, after which he was named Yogi Adityanath from Ajay Singh Bisht.

He became a disciple of Mahanta Avaidyanath, the chief priest of Gorakhnath Math. After the death of Mahanta Avaidyanath on September 12, 2014, Yogi Adityanath was promoted to the post of Chief Priest of Gorakhnath Math.

On September 14, 2014, Yogi Adityanath was made the “Peethadhiswara of Gorakhnath Temple” in a traditional ceremony of the Nath community.

He started studying in the local school of Gaja, Tehri Garhwal in 1977 and passed the Class X examination from here in 1987. In 1989, he passed the intermediate examination from Shri Bharat Mandir Inter College, Rishikesh. In 1990, he joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad while studying for graduation.

In 1992 Srinagar to Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University of the mathematics close BSc examination. During his stay in Kotdwar, his belongings were stolen from his room, which also contained his certificate.

For this reason, he remained unsuccessful in an attempt to postgraduate in science. After this, he again in Rishikesh took admission in postgraduate science but his attention was bent into the Ayodhya Ram temple movement with the entry.

He came to Gorakhpur in 1993 to do research on Guru Gorakhnath while studying Master of Science in Mathematics and went to the shelter of his uncle Mahant Avaidyanath in Gorakhpur and took initiation.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh

Yogi Adityanath was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, 19 March 2017. The oath-taking ceremony took place at Kanshi Ram Smriti Upvan, Lucknow. He was also accompanied by two Deputy Chief Ministers.

For the first time in the political history of Uttar Pradesh, two Deputy Chief Ministers were formed. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the then BJP President Amit Shah, and several senior leaders of the party. Akhilesh Yadav and Mulayam Singh were also present on the stage.
