Ranveer Singh was born on July 6, 1985, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India as Ranveer Singh Bhavnani. He was born into a middle-class Sindhi Hindu family. Ranveer Singh father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani was a businessman, and his mother Anju Bhavnani was a housewife.
During the Partition of India, Ranveer’s grandfather Sundar Singh Bhavanani and grandmother Chand Barka moved from Karachi, Sindh province to Mumbai.

In January 2010, Ranveer was called in for an audition by Shanoo Sharma, head of the casting division at Yash Raj Films. After conclusive tests, he obtains the main role in a romantic comedy film, Band Baaja Baaraat in which he played Bittoo Sharma.
