Shyam Pathak was born on 6 June 1976, in Gujarat, India in a Middle-class Hindu family. He completes his basic education at a Gujarati medium school. Later he took admission at the Institute of Chartered Account of India, but due to his interest in acting, he dropped out in the middle and then joined the National School of Drama.

When Shyam was studying at the National School of Drama, he met with Reshami she was his classmate at that time. Soon they both become friends and then the friendship turned into love.
