he was Currently signed with the local underground label Awful Records before signing with ASAP Mob’s AWGE label on Interscope Records. After winning a cult following early in his career, Carti gained public attention in 2017.

Playboi Carti was born on September 13, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States as Jordan Terrell Carter. Carti comes from a financially poor family. He completed his primary education at North Springs Charter High School in Sandy Springs.

Carti had to struggle a lot during his early years of life due to financial disadvantages. He regularly skipped his high school classes to work on his music and in his job at H&M. During his childhood, Carti loved to play basketball and he wanted to become a famous NBA star to prove himself best.

But after some time he stopped playing basketball to dedicate his all-time to music. Carti didn’t like the idea of being an upcoming rapper while working at H&M, so he decided to quit his job.

In 2017, he briefly dated Blac Chyna who is a popular American model and entrepreneur. From 2018 to 2020 Carti was in a live-in relationship with Australian rapper and singer Iggy Azalea.  In 2020 Iggy Azalea announced that she had given birth to Carti’s son. Later, Azalea revealed that her son’s name is Onyx Kelly.

Carti began his rapping career at a very young age under the name Sir Cartier in 2011. Just after two years, it changed to Playboi Carti. In 2013, Carti chose to devote himself to music full-time, so he moved to New York with some of his family members.

In New York, Carti made the decision to live in the home of his drug dealer friend. At the South by Southwest show in March 2015, Carti met ASAP Rocky, who was Carti’s mentor. Then he began to gain attention in 2015 with his singles “Broke Boi” and “Fetti” featuring Da$h and Maxo Kream, both of which were released on SoundCloud.

In 2016, she was featured on A$AP Mob’s single “Telephone Calls” from their album Cozy Tapes Vol. 1: Friends. The same year, Carti signed with AWGE Label, from A$AP Mob, and with Interscope Records.

On April 14, 2017, Playboi Carti released his second project, a mixtape featuring collaborations with Lil Uzi Vert, Leven Kali, and A$AP Rocky. “Magnolia” and “Woke Up Like This”, are the major names in the mixtape, which was reached the top place on the Billboard Hot 100.

On June 13, 2017, Playboi Carti was named one of the top ten in the “Freshman Class 2017” of XXL. Around this time, he was featured on A$AP Mob’s single “RAF” from their album Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy and Lana del Rey’s single “Summer Bummer” from their album Lust For Life.

On May 11, 2018, Carti released his first full-length studio album “Die Lit”, which peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard 200. Carti began work on her second album “Whole Lotta Red” in late 2018, which was then released on December 25, 2020.

It is his first album which reached number 1 on the charts. In 2021 the deluxe version of the album of the same name will be released.
