Armie Hammer is no stranger to making headlines, and his latest revelation is no exception. Armie Hammer opened up about a surprising personal experience during the March 3 episode of The Armie HammerTime Podcast, where he shared how he once attempted to hook up with a man out of sheer frustration with women—but let’s just say it didn’t quite go as he imagined.
Hammer admitted he had a theory that “gay dudes have it so easy,” so he decided to put it to the test by downloading Grindr, the popular dating app for men seeking men. It didn’t take long before he got an offer he found intriguing.
“I’m at a restaurant, my phone blows up, and it’s, like, Grindr,” he recalled. “Someone else is like, ‘I’m at the same restaurant—do you want a b*** j** in the bathroom?’”
Feeling adventurous, Hammer went for it. But once he was face-to-face with his potential hookup, reality hit hard.
“I met this dude—handsome, French, the whole thing—and I was like, ‘OK, this could work, let’s try this,’” he explained. “I started making out with him, and suddenly I was like, ‘Urgh, God, beards! Now I get why women like it when you shave. This thing is rough—how do I even get in there?’”
But it wasn’t just the scratchy beard that threw him off. The Call Me by Your Name star quickly realized that being with a man just wasn’t for him.
“I put my arms around him, and I’m thinking, ‘Oh my God, these shoulders are so wide. He’s huge—almost my height. This is so strange,’” Hammer shared. “And physically, for me? Absolutely nothing. Not even a twitch.”
The moment of truth came when the man tried to take things a step further.
“I was just going through the motions, and when he reached for my, um, very flaccid situation, I was like, ‘Yeah, this isn’t happening,’” Hammer admitted.
This bizarre Grindr confession is just the latest in a string of wild stories from Hammer, who recently made another jaw-dropping claim—this time about eating the raw heart of a freshly killed animal.
“You take a bite out of the heart, and you’ve got all your buddies around you, they’re goading you on,” he said last month on The Louis Theroux Podcast. “It’s an overly charged male rite of passage when you go hunting for the first time.”
While some have speculated that this behavior ties into the disturbing cannibalism allegations that surfaced against Hammer in 2021, the actor was quick to shut that down.
“It wasn’t for cannibalism or any sexual gratification,” he insisted. And when directly asked if he was a cannibal, he fired back: “You know what you have to do to actually be a cannibal? You have to eat human flesh. So, no.”
Hammer’s Hollywood career came to a screeching halt in 2021 after an ex accused him of rape, and leaked DMs appeared to reveal dark sexual fantasies—including cannibalism. He has repeatedly denied the allegations, maintaining that all his past relationships were consensual.
Though the Los Angeles Police Department closed its investigation in May 2023 without charging him, Hammer admitted in his recent interview that he was far from innocent when it came to his personal life.
“I left a lot of people in that wake very angry at me for my behavior. … Ahole behavior. There’s no way around that,” he admitted. “Does it make me a d*? Absolutely. Like, I have no problem admitting that. I was a d***. That’s not illegal.”
Between Grindr experiments, raw animal hearts, and his controversial past, Armie Hammer continues to be one of Hollywood’s most polarizing figures—whether he likes it or not.
