Zach Bryan Caught in Heated Bar Argument Over Alleged Recording

Zach Bryan found himself in a tense exchange at a New York City bar after confronting a patron he believed was recording him, according to video footage obtained by TMZ.

The 28-year-old Grammy-winning singer-songwriter was out with friends in the West Village on Monday night, February 17, when the alleged altercation took place. Witnesses said Bryan was casually playing pool, but after losing three consecutive games, his mood reportedly shifted.

Heated Exchange Caught on Camera

The incident was captured on a pair of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses worn by another patron. At one point, Bryan even tried on the glasses himself, jokingly saying, “You’re gonna see some terrible things tonight.”

However, things escalated when Bryan accused the individual of recording him. The patron defended himself, saying, “I’m not trying to record your ass. I’m trying to record my s— with my friends, for memories, to have fun, and you’re just being a douche.”

Bryan fired back with a controversial remark, responding, “That’s the gayest thing I’ve ever heard.”

Despite knowing the glasses were actively recording, Bryan appeared to make a fist and said, “I wanna rip them off your face so bad, cause we’re at a bar.”

Witnesses reported that Bryan and his friends had repeatedly asked the group to stop recording them—“more than half a dozen times,” according to sources. In response, the other group allegedly attempted to film in a more discreet manner.

Before the situation escalated further, Bryan’s friends stepped in, quickly settling the tab and leaving the bar.

Public Scrutiny After Breakup

This incident comes four months after Bryan’s public breakup with ex-girlfriend Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia. Since their split, he has faced increased scrutiny online, leading him to call out social media trolls in January.

“All of you f—in weird couch warriors attacking and belittling my friends on the internet because you’re assuming I have a girlfriend are weird as hell and should be studied for science,” Bryan wrote in an Instagram Story on January 9.

“Everyone wonders why I quit touring and don’t want to be attached to music anymore, meanwhile you’re calling my friends ugly and harassing them?” he continued. “Apparently I’ve [had] four different girlfriends in like two weeks, meanwhile my friends and me are just laughing and hanging out like we always have.”

The country star made it clear he has no interest in dating at the moment, adding, “I don’t have a girlfriend and don’t plan on having a girlfriend, however I do have normal friends that I love very much and would go to the ends of the earth for.”

While it’s unclear if Bryan will address the latest bar altercation, the incident has already sparked conversation among fans.
