US President Joe Biden says he is ‘first black woman to serve with a black president’

US President Joe Biden has once again become the focus of a media whirl following a string of awkward remarks he made during the Independence Day celebrations. In a glaring error, Biden referred to himself as “proud to be the first black woman to serve with a black president” while conflating himself with vice president Kamala Harris.

Only one week has passed since Biden and Donald Trump’s debate, which raised concerns about his political future for many. Biden tried to emphasize Harris’s historic position in an interview with Philadelphia’s Wurd radio station, but he wound up obscuring his own experience serving as Barack Obama’s vice president.

Joe Biden said, “By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first Vice President, first black woman… to serve with a black President.”
