Chimaev ranked three in the UFC welterweight rankings, as of 12 April 2022, He started wrestling when he was only five years old.In 2013, when he was 18 years old, he immigrated to Sweden with his mother, joining his older brother, Artur Chimaev, who competes in freestyle wrestling.
