The 2023 salary of Prince William has been made public. The whopping $30 million that Prince William received as salary for his first full year from the Duchy of Cornwall estate has been made public.
As to the Integrated Annual Report released by the Duchy of Cornwall, the estate responsible for overseeing the royal family’s holdings throughout England, William, 42, received a surplus of £23.6 million from the foundation during his inaugural year as the Duke of Cornwall. Following his coronation in May 2023, he succeeded his father, King Charles III, as the title holder.
William’s first full year in the new position began with the 2023–2024 fiscal year, following Queen Elizabeth II’s death in September 2022, which resulted in Charles, 75, taking the throne. During his mother’s reign, Charles had to wait more than 70 years to become king. In addition to inheriting the Duchy of Cornwall estate and the title of Duke of Cornwall, William also became the Football Association’s Patron, a job that his grandmother had previously held.
King Edward III created the Duchy of Cornwall in 1337 as a means of supplying money for the heir apparent. At the moment, Prince George, age 11, Princess Charlotte, age 9, and Prince Louis, age 6, are served, together with William and Kate Middleton.
The estate, which comprises “livestock farms, residential and commercial properties, as well as forests, rivers, quarries, and coastline” spanning more than 135,000 acres, is covered by the fund for the “official, charitable, and private activities” of William, Kate, 42, and their children.
The next in line for the throne is thought to pay income taxes on the estate funds after deducting household expenditures for his family. Charles, by contrast, received almost £24 million ($30.93 million) from the Duchy of Cornwall inheritance in 2022–2023.
The report follows William’s recent spate of public engagements, which included a trip to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour event in London and a father-son day out at the Euro Final match in Berlin, Germany last week.
Following Kate’s cancer diagnosis announcement in March, William has been juggling his roles as a working royal, a father, and a loving spouse. The couple hasn’t disclosed any health updates, but she’s started going out in public again and even brought Charlotte to Wimbledon lately.
Kate made her official comeback to the world in June by participating in Trooping the Colour, which took place before the Wimbledon stop. But the return to the spotlight apparently took a toll on her, thus the performance was supposedly a one-time event.
When ET spoke with Katie Nicholl, a royal expert, she said that the public exhibition was a trying experience for Kate. “The princess has this sort of swan-like quality about her — she’s sort of gliding on the surface — but beneath the water, I think often she’s paddling quite frantically,” Nicholl said. “I can only imagine that a huge amount of preparation and time and effort and energy will have gone into Saturday’s appearance.”
She went on, “She was on her feet for a long time.” She was appreciatively offered a seat when she was offered one while she was watching the procession. That is merely a small admission that she is not as fit or as powerful as she was prior to beginning this treatment.”
