Pop Smoke was a popular American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actor who is known for his contributions to the hip-hop and drill music scene. He rose to prominence with his breakout hit singles “Welcome to the Party” and “Dior” in 2019.
On 26 July 2019, Pop Smoke released his debut mixtape “Meet the Woo”. On 7 February 2020, Pop Smoke released his second mixtape “Meet the Woo 2”, which features artists like Quavo, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Lil Tjay, and Fivio Foreign.
The mixtape peaked at number seven on the US Billboard 200, earning his first top-10 hit in the United States. A popular New York rapper 50 Cent was the executive producer and released his posthumous debut studio album, “Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon” on 3 July 2020.
The album peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 and all 19 tracks from the album were charted on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album includes collaborations with artists like Quavo, Future, and DaBaby. On 16 July 2021, Republic Records released his second studio album, “Faith”.
On 19 February 2020, Pop Smoke was fatally shot three times during a home invasion in Hollywood Hills, California. At the age of 20, Pop Smoke died due to multiple gunshot wounds to the chest.
