When Cleveland chef Doug Katz purchased his ticket for the Rolling Stones concert scheduled for June 15 at Cleveland Browns Stadium, he never imagined he’d encounter Mick Jagger two nights before the event.
Katz met the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer on Thursday night at Amba, his Hingetown restaurant, where the band chose to dine. “We want to be professional and respect their privacy,” Katz, who was present at the restaurant that night, remarked. “It’s true they joined us, and we were thrilled that they chose Amba.”
Katz mentioned that the band and a group of their associates enjoyed dinner at the India-influenced restaurant in privacy. “They kept to themselves,” he noted. “It was a last-minute arrangement; someone called and spoke with my manager.”
Following the restaurant’s policy, the band didn’t make a reservation. Instead, a member of their party arrived around 9:15 p.m. to join the waitlist. “I got to say hello,” Katz shared. “They were super gracious and nice. I’m happy they’re here in Cleveland.” Amba is located at 1430 W 28th St, Cleveland.
