Years ago, Matthew McConaughey revealed that Kate Hudson asked him to do something hygienic in 2008 while they were filming “Fool’s Gold.” He reportedly stated at the time, “She always brings a salt rock, which is some natural deodorant, and says, ‘Would you please put this on?'” I simply didn’t wear it. No deodorant, no cologne.
Hudson’s recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” brought the topic back to light. “Was that old urban legend true that you forced Matthew McConaughey to wear deodorant while filming ‘Fool’s Gold?'” Cohen questioned Hudson, reading a question from a viewer.
Although Hudson acknowledged McConaughey doesn’t wear deodorant, she denied forcing him. She added, “And by the way, I don’t either”. “My thing was that I could smell him from a mile…because we were so close,” Hudson said. “We’re au naturales.” Together, the two starred in the popular 2003 movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”
