Ishan Kishan is a popular Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian national cricket team as a wicket-keeper and left-handed batsman. On 14 March 2021, he made his first Twenty20 international (T20I) cricket debut against England cricket team. He plays for Jharkhand in domestic cricket.
In 2016, he made his first IPL (Indian Premier League) debut with Gujarat Lions. In 2018, he was bought by the Mumbai Indians franchise in the 2018 IPL auction. He made the highest run-scorer for Mumbai Indians in the 2020 season, with 516 runs in 14 matches, and won the award for hitting the most sixes during the season.
In the 2022 IPL auction, Kishan was bought again by Mumbai Indians for ₹16 crore (equivalent to US$2.0 million in 2023), which makes him the second-most expensive Indian player at the IPL auction after Yuvraj Singh.
In December 2022, Ishan Kishan scored 210 runs in 131 balls in a One Day International (ODI) match against the Bangladesh cricket team, becoming the youngest cricketer to score an ODI double century, and the fourth Indian player to score a double century in an ODI.
