Dulquer Salmaan is a popular Indian actor, playback singer, film producer, and entrepreneur who is primarily known for works in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films. He made his acting debut with the Indian Malayalam-language action crime film, “Second Show” (2012).
He established himself as a leading actor in Indian cinema with numerous critically and commercially successful films including, “Ustad Hotel” (2012), “ABCD” (2013), “Vaayai Moodi Pesavum” (2014), “Bangalore Days” (2014), “Vikramadithyan” (2014), “Charlie” (2015), “Kali” (2016), “Kammatti Paadam” (2016), “Jomonte Suvisheshangal” (2017), “Comrade in America” (2017), “Mahanati” (2018), “Kurup” (2021) and “Sita Ramam” (2022).
On 22 December 2011, Dulquer Salmaan married an architect Amal Sufiya in an arranged marriage. The couple has a daughter named Maryam Salmaan who was born on 5 May 2017. In 2013 and 2014, he was selected as the “Most Desirable Man” by the Kochi Times.
In 2016, the American international monthly men’s magazine, GQ ranked Dulquer Salmaan 4th in their list of the 50 most influential young Indians. The same year, he was also featured in GQ’s list of the “Best Dressed Men” in India.
In October 2019, Salmaan became the first Malayalam actor from Kerala to get featured on the cover of Vogue India. Dulquer Salmaan has received several awards including, 4 Filmfare Awards South and a Kerala State Film Award.
