Doja Cat is advocating for herself. On the evening of March 2, the 29-year-old Grammy-winning artist delivered a rendition of “Diamonds Are Forever” as part of the James Bond tribute at the 2025 Academy Awards.
Following the significant event, Doja took to Instagram to address the criticism regarding her performance.
“Thanks to the Academy Awards and Vanity Fair for having me,” Doja said. “I never get to sing like that and what I did was brave and scary as f–k for me. I know a lot of people didn’t like it but a lot of people did and I feel good that I pushed myself.”
She further expressed, “The song is a classic and I put a lot of work into it but the nerves got to me and a b-tch hit some flats. I can’t wait to do something like that again. What a blessing that was. I feel amazing about the whole thing. Bye. 🙏💓”
After posting her thoughts, numerous well-known friends commented to commend Doja’s performance. “ATE WON QUEEN HALLELUJAH,” remarked Ashley Graham, while Raye added, “I’m very proud of you 🥹”
Additionally, during the James Bond tribute, the classically trained dancer Margaret Qualley showcased her remarkable dance abilities.
