Cate Blanchett was born on 14 May 1969 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She was born into a middle-class English, Scottish, and French ancestry family. Cate Blanchett fathers name is Robert Blanchett, he was a United States Navy Chief Petty Officer who became an advertising executive.

And her mother June Blanchett, was a property developer and teacher. At the age of 10, Blanchett’s father died due to a heart attack. Blanchett did her primary schooling at Ivanhoe East Primary School in Melbourne. She completes her secondary education at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School.

After high school, she went to Methodist Ladies College in Melbourne, where she explored her passion for the arts. In 1992, she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

Cate Blanchett made her first feature film debut with a supporting role as an Australian nurse captured by the Japanese Army during World War II, in the Australian war film, Paradise Road (1997), alongside Glenn Close and Frances McDormand.

She made her first international film debut with the role of a young Elizabeth I, in the British biographical period drama film, Elizabeth (1998). This movie earned her the Golden Globe Award and British Academy Award (BAFTA), and her first Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
