Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne are celebrating her first Tony Award win

This year’s Tony Awards were a special event for Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne Jolie-Pitt. They attended to support “The Outsiders,” a musical based on S.E. Hinton’s novel. Angelina Jolie was a producer, and her 15-year-old daughter worked as a producer’s assistant.

Vivienne got emotional when Danya Taymor won the Tony Award for Best Director. In her speech, Taymor thanked Jolie and mentioned a group of “great women who have lifted me up.”

“To all the young artists out there who want to create, what some may perceive as a weakness or a liability in you might just be your superpower,” Taymor said. “Don’t be afraid to trust your gut. Artistic risk yields rewards.”

“The Outsiders” also won the award for Best Musical.”
