Porsche Unveils Sleek Black Edition Taycan Models With More Range and Style

Porsche is no stranger to limited-edition models, especially when it comes to the iconic 911. But now, the German automaker is turning its attention to the electric side of the garage. Meet the Black Edition Taycan, a stylish and stealthy new take on Porsche’s all-electric sedan.

Blacked-Out Style, Inside and Out

The new Black Edition is available for three versions of the Taycan: the base model, the Taycan 4, and the Taycan 4S. True to its name, this special edition brings a sleek, all-black look to both the exterior and interior.

On the outside, each model comes standard with Porsche’s Sport Design package in gloss black—a nearly $4,000 option on regular Taycans. This includes a more aggressive front bumper, extended side skirts, and a sporty rear diffuser.

Other blacked-out touches include:

  • Gloss black window trim and badging
  • Black brushed aluminum doorsill guards
  • Dark interior trim
  • Exclusive black side mirrors (not available on standard Taycans)
  • Black Edition” door lettering, illuminated sill plates, and a special edition key

If full black isn’t your thing, you can choose from a few additional paint colors at no extra cost, including Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Ice Grey Metallic. Or you can pick any color from the regular Taycan lineup.

More Power, More Range

The Black Edition isn’t just about looks. Porsche is also adding some popular upgrades as standard. That includes the Performance Battery Plus package, a $5,780 option on other Taycans. With it, battery capacity jumps to 97 kWh, giving these models longer range and more power.

Here’s what that looks like:

  • Base Taycan: 318 miles of range, 429 hp
  • Taycan 4: 294 miles of range, 429 hp
  • Taycan 4S: 295 miles of range, 509 hp

Extra Comfort and Tech

The Black Edition Taycans also come loaded with high-end features that typically cost extra. Standard equipment includes:

  • 14-way power comfort seats
  • Bose surround sound system
  • 360-degree parking camera system
  • Puddle lights
  • Interior storage package

When Can You Get One?

Porsche hasn’t announced pricing yet, but expect a slight premium over the standard Taycan models with similar options. That said, these probably won’t be quite as hard to get as Porsche’s more exclusive collector editions.

U.S. deliveries for the Black Edition Taycan are expected to begin this fall.
