The Honda Prelude is making a comeback for the 2026 model year, and it’s already generating buzz among performance coupe fans. While Honda hasn’t fully revealed the production version, they’ve confirmed some key performance details—and the new Prelude sounds like more than just a stylish throwback.
Under the hood, the 2026 Prelude will borrow the hybrid four-cylinder powertrain from the Civic, expected to deliver around 200 horsepower and 288 lb-ft of torque. It won’t be a Civic Type R rival, but it will share some serious performance hardware.
One standout feature is the Prelude’s suspension setup. Honda is equipping it with the dual-axis front strut suspension from the Type R and Acura Integra Type S—technology designed to reduce torque steer and improve handling. This gives the Prelude an edge over the more tame Civic Si.
